Live Set: Bob's Yer Uncle

Stream the Show Download the Songs A couple of months ago, after a Shlep Music Club set, Craig and I decided to collaborate on the set that we're presenting this Friday under the title "Bob's Yer Uncle", which is a British phrase meaning "and there you have it." Why did we name it that? I honestly can't recall. There are a few Bobs in it, but the logic behind it is lost to the martinis that wore off long ago. The set was initially gonna be Kraut-rock inspired, then added ingredients kept coming -- no-wave, prog in general, proto-punk. In the end, the set is really just gonna consist of a wide array of music that we both like. Hope you join us!

Live Set: Strong Women in Music

Stream the Show Download the Songs Hi Shleppers!  This set has been a passion project for me.  It chronicles outstanding female musicians who have changed the world of music.  I skipped most of the “obvious” options. So, with my apologies, there is no  Dolly Parton/Madonna/Joni Mitchell/Stevie Nicks/Tina Turner/Diana Ross/Aretha Franklin /Linda Ronstadt/Gloria Estefan/Joan Baez/Carole King/Janis Joplin/Cher/Debbie Harry/Whitney Houston /Queen Latifah/Selena/Mariah Carey/BeyoncĂ©/Lady Gaga/Taylor Swift But there is an amazing journey from the original rock and roll song all the way to current bands.  The set only looks at female singers and female bands who paved the way and made changes.   I hope you love it as much as I do!

Live Set: Geno II

Stream the Show Download the Songs When: Friday, March 1st at 7 Pacific, 8 Mountain, 9 Central, 10 Eastern Where:  shlepmusicclub.mixlr.com Who: Geno-- the oldest friendship I have... we met on Tuesday, December 9, 1980... the day after John Lennon was murdered What: Some cool, fun tracks that will take you back... make you rock... and if drunk enough, maybe shed a tear. Why: Because we like you. From Geno: I don't really have a theme, the set I made is just a mix of music from a guy that spent a lot of time watching TV in the 70s and listening to FM radio in the 80's.  Those pics-- Geno circa mid-1980s
