Geno and I met on December 9th, 1980, the morning after John Lennon was killed in NYC. We were in fifth grade and were both transplants from the greater Twin Cities to the small rural town of Roberts, Wisconsin. Only about twenty miles away, but when you're 11 years old, it might as well be 50 miles. We've been friends ever since. Geno just became a grandpa! We're old. So it goes.
